Who this applies to
By using kortco.com or placing an order, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. Kortco is operated by Kortco Inc., a Canadian company.
Changes to terms
We may update these terms occasionally. We will note the date of the last update at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
Orders and payment
Order acceptance
Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to cancel orders for any reason, including pricing errors or inventory issues. If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund.
Pricing
All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise noted. Prices are subject to change. Your order confirmation locks in the price at time of purchase.
Payment
We accept major credit cards via Stripe. Payment is processed at the time of order placement. For pre-orders, payment is charged immediately and held until shipment.
Taxes
Applicable taxes (GST/HST/PST for Canadian orders, state sales tax for US orders) are calculated at checkout based on your shipping address.
Pre-orders
Pre-order commitment
Pre-orders are a commitment to purchase. Your card is charged at the time of pre-order placement. We use pre-order funds to place production orders with our suppliers.
Pre-order cancellation
You may cancel a pre-order within 7 days of placement for a full refund. After 7 days, pre-orders are non-refundable except in cases where we cannot fulfill the order.
Delays
If production or shipping is delayed by more than 60 days beyond our stated timeline, we will notify you and offer a full refund option.
Shipping and delivery
Risk of loss
Title and risk of loss pass to you when we hand the package to the carrier. We are not responsible for carrier delays, lost packages, or damage in transit beyond initiating a claim on your behalf.
Address accuracy
You are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. We are not responsible for orders delivered to incorrect addresses provided at checkout.
Returns and refunds
Return window
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for items in original, unused condition with original packaging. Contact hello@kortco.com to initiate a return.
Return shipping
You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or we made an error.
Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed within 5 business days of receiving the returned item. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
Defective items
If your item is defective or damaged in transit, email hello@kortco.com with a photo within 7 days of delivery. We will replace or refund at our discretion, including covering return shipping.
Intellectual property
Our content
All content on kortco.com — including text, photos, product designs, and the Kortco brand — is owned by Kortco Inc. or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
Your content
If you submit reviews or feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive license to use and display that content in connection with our products and marketing.
Limitation of liability
Liability cap
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kortco's liability for any claim arising from your use of the site or our products is limited to the amount you paid for the product in question.
Indirect damages
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or our products.
Governing law
Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, except where mandatory local law requires otherwise.
