How are Kortco grips different from tennis overgrips?

Padel and pickleball handles have different geometry — shorter, wider grip surfaces with more wrist movement at contact. Standard tennis overgrips are 28–30mm wide and 110–120cm long, designed for a taller butt cap and longer swing arc. Kortco grips are cut to 25mm (padel) and 28mm (pickleball), use a higher-tack polyurethane that performs better under sustained heat and humidity, and are individually sealed so the third one in a pack isn't dried out.

What does "WPT & APP compliant" mean for the grips?

World Padel Tour (WPT) and Association of Pickleball Players (APP) both have equipment specifications grips must meet to be used in sanctioned play. Our grips meet the thickness, material, and dimension requirements for both governing bodies. If you play recreationally, this just means the grip is within normal competitive dimensions.

Will the court bag fit a pickleball paddle and a padel racquet?

Yes. The racquet sleeve fits racquets up to 46cm long and 30cm wide — that covers the full range of padel frames and all standard pickleball paddles. The sleeve holds two side-by-side without pressure on the strings or face.

Are the Sun & Heat sleeves compatible with a full swing motion?

That's the specific design brief. Most arm sleeves are cut for a static arm position and bunch at the elbow on follow-through. Kortco sleeves use a pre-rotated arm position and stretch-mapped panels at the elbow and forearm. They don't bunch. We're testing the final fit with padel and pickleball players now.

How often should I replace my overgrip?

More often than you currently do. A pickleball or padel overgrip loses effective tackiness after approximately 3–6 hours of play depending on conditions. If you play twice a week for 1.5–2 hour sessions, that means replacing your grip every 1–2 weeks. Hot or humid conditions degrade grip faster — outdoor summer play in a warm climate is closer to the 3-hour end. The reason most players stretch grips far past their useful life is the cost and inconvenience of replacement. That's a problem with how the market has priced this product, not with how often you should actually change it.

Does the court bag stand up on its own?

Yes. Self-standing is not optional — it's a structural design requirement. The most documented complaint about court bags at the $150+ price point is that they tip over when placed on the court side. We designed the bag's base geometry, weight distribution, and panel stiffness specifically around this. The bag stands on hard court surfaces with paddles inside.

Is there a dedicated compartment for balls?

Yes. Most court bags put balls in the main compartment with paddles and shoes, or in a small exterior pocket that holds three balls. Neither is a real solution. The Kortco court bag has a dedicated ball sleeve — separate from the paddle compartment, accessible without opening the main bag, and sized for at least six balls.

Pre-order & Waitlist

What is the $10 deposit and where does it go?

The $10 pre-order deposit reserves your spot for the first drop. It's not a payment for gear — it's a refundable reservation. When the first drop ships, the $10 is credited to your order total. If we don't ship or you change your mind before launch, we refund it in full. No conditions.

What's the difference between the pre-order and the waitlist?

The waitlist is email-only — you'll get one notification when the first drop is ready. No deposit, no commitment. The pre-order is a $10 refundable deposit that locks in your place in the first-drop queue and qualifies you for launch pricing. Waitlist members can still order at launch, but pre-order customers get first priority.

When does the first drop ship?

2026. We're currently evaluating grip and bag samples from suppliers. We'd rather be right than fast — we're not going to ship something that doesn't outperform what you already own.

What does "launch pricing" mean?

Pre-order and early waitlist customers receive the first-drop price, which will be lower than the regular retail price. The difference isn't huge — we're not running a gimmick. But it's a real discount for people who trusted us early.

Shipping & Returns

Where do you ship?

First drop will ship to the United States and Canada. We're evaluating shipping to Europe and Australia for subsequent drops. If you're outside the US/Canada and want to be notified when international shipping opens, join the waitlist.

What is your return policy?

If a product doesn't outperform what you already own, we'll refund it — no forms, no restocking fee, no questions about why. Return within 30 days of delivery. Pre-order deposits are fully refundable at any point before the order ships.

How long does shipping take?

Domestic US orders: 3–5 business days standard. Expedited options will be available at checkout. Canada: 5–10 business days. Exact shipping carriers and costs will be confirmed before the first drop.

Company

Is Kortco just tennis accessories with new labels?

No. That's the whole reason we exist. The grips have different dimensions and tack profiles. The bags are designed for two padel or pickleball racquets, not one tennis racquet. The sun sleeves are cut around a forehand swing, not a golf stroke. Every product starts from the specific mechanics, court conditions, and equipment of padel and pickleball — not from an existing tennis spec.

Who is behind Kortco?

We're a small founding team of players who got tired of buying adapated gear. No VC backing, no lifestyle brand strategy, no influencer launch. We're private-labeling carefully selected products and selling directly.

Why only four product categories?

"Kort" is the Scandinavian word for court — and also the brief: short, focused, specific. We could build 20 products. We won't. Each category stays in the range only if the product outperforms what you already own. If it doesn't, we don't ship it and we don't fill the slot with something that does.
